Special Education Teacher: WABA Program

 

The Westwood Public Schools Student Services Department is seeking a candidate to fill a Special Education Teacher position in the WABA  (Westwood Applied Behavior Analysis) Program. This position reports to the Special Education Department Head and principal.

 

Special Education Teacher: Severe Disabilities

The Westwood Public Schools seeks a Severe Special Education Teacher with experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum and trained in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

 

NATURE AND SCOPE

The teacher plans, delivers, and implements effective instruction and assesses student learning in accordance with state curriculum frameworks and district goals. The teacher creates an educational environment in which all students are safe and achieve. The teacher collaborates with other professionals and students' families to help students succeed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Massachusetts teaching certification in relevant area

Certification in Special Education

Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, AND SKILL

JOB ENVIRONMENT

Work takes place in classrooms, within the community, and other building rooms/areas, including offices, auditorium, gym, lunchroom and hallways, within a school building setting, primarily indoors. MAy include home visits. Job takes place in a high-performing school district with high expectations.
